Behind the Scenes

Charles Hanna: I really enjoyed the process of recording the audiobook, from the first session with guest narrator Joan Cusack in Chicago, to my own sessions in Toronto at Davidson Recording Studio.

After a 1-hour coaching session with Canada’s top voice casting agent, Kim Hurdon, I began working through the material in 3-hour sessions. It had been 3 years since I’d written the material, and I found myself frequently triggered in some of the more emotional sections of the book. The recording sessions were often quite intense for this reason, and I’ve received feedback from multiple people that they, in turn, respond quite emotionally to some of the material.

I’m very glad for the audiobook medium – it is a joy to voice the ideas I tried so hard to communicate in the book. I hope you will enjoy listening! Please share any feedback you may have with me using the contact form.
